Information about the Instructors
Elizabeth R. Baer serves as Professor of English at Gustavus Adolphus College, where she holds the Florence and Raymond Sponberg Chair of Ethics. Her scholarly interests focus on the uses of literature for resistance, protest and reconciliation. Dr. Baer has extensive travel experience in 22 countries over the past two decades including three recent trips to Ireland.
Steve Griffith, chair of the theatre and dance department, teaches in the area of theatrical design, arts management and Irish drama. He has been a member of the Gustavus Adolphus College faculty since 1979. This will be the eighth class he has taught in Ireland since 1990.
Carolyn OGrady is Associate Professor of Education and teaches a variety of courses, including Human Relations in Education. Her scholarly interests include social justice education, spirituality in education, and the intersection of multicultural education and service learning. She has travelled widely in the United States and abroad and January 2005 will mark her third trip to Ireland.
