TENNIS MEN WIN MIAC POST SEASON PLAYOFF
Gustavus

Until last year the spring season ended with a conference tournament that
included all conference teams. It played a major role in determining the
MIAC title. Now dual matches alone determine the conference title, which
Gustavus clinched two weeks ago with a 9-0 victory over Carleton. In the
last 39 years Gustavus has lost only one conference dual match.
The playoff title guarantees Gustavus a spot in the NCAA III
championship. Regional competition begins next Friday at a site to
be determined on Monday. The eight regional champions advance to
NCAA III championship at
Gustavus is the number six-ranked team in the nation with a ten-match winning
streak. Its season record is 27-5, including a national indoor
championship and wins over #1 ranked
