Translation of Reading exercise from Vaughn, Chapter 7

(note: the translation is rather "wooden" so that the student may follow the passage more easily)

Adapted from Gen 19:

1. And the angel of the LORD came to Sodom, and meanwhile Lot was sitting at the gate of Sodom. And Lot went to the angel.

2. And Lot said to the angel, please turn to my household and lodge with me tonight.

3. And the angel of the LORD cam to Lot's household, and after these things happened Lot made a feast, and he ate.

4. And after these things happened, the men of the city, the men of Sodom from young to old, all the people, went to the house of Lot.

5. And they called to Lot, and they said to him, "Where is the man who came to you tonight? Make the man come out to us so that we might know him (i.e., have sex with him).
