Exercise 8:d (note: these translations may not correspond exactly to what you find in the NRSV because I am translating only the part of the verse listed in the exercise. The translation changes with the context of the rest of the verse).

1. The LORD crosses over
2. The LORD loves justice
3. The ones who cross over into the land
4. The people who dwell in the land (note: the relative pronoun "who" is used because the def. article on the ptc.)
5. An ear which hears and an eye that sees (note: the relative "that" is used because the ptc. is used with a noun that is not definate. It could also be translated with this limited context as "a ear hears and an eye sees").
6. A person (lit. "man") who loves wisdom (note: just as above, the relative "who" is used because the ptc is used with a noun that is not definate. It could also be translated with this limited context as "a man loves wisdom.")
7. The people who walk in darkness (note: the relative pronoun "who" is used because the def. article on the ptc. Also note that I translated "darkness" instead of "the darkness." The reason is because "darkness" is a concept and thus definate without the use of the def. article "the.")
8. They (mp) build a temple for The LORD.
9. Evil goes forth from nation to nation.
10. Slaves upon horses and princes walking like servants upon the land (note that none of the nouns are definate.)
