Required short essay for the final exam, Fall 2001 (this question will be on the test) (20%):

Discuss the use of prophecies from the OT in the NT and explain how these prophecies are "true" with respect to looking backwards, but they do not necessarily point forwards. Use examples of prophecies from the OT that are cited in at least two books of the NT. (hint: use the idea of past promises that were not fulfilled the way people thought they would be fulfilled as a way to explain how the NT uses prophecies from the OT).
