Gear
In order to be successful at saltwater fishing there are a few items that you need to have. One item that is necessary is your fishing rod and reel. The rod used for saltwater fishing is typically much stiffer than that used in freshwater because of the tendency for salt water fish to be much larger. Depending on the species of saltwater fish that you are fishing for you may want a harness that will attach the pole you you so that you don't drop it into the water. You may also want to have a harpoon like tool that is used to grab the fish and get it out of the water.
Species
Just like freshwater there are many different species of fish that live in salt water. For this website I will only give information about the most commonly fished species(in the link on the left).
