CRITICAL
PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS SEMINAR, FALL 2011
PRESENTATION
SCHEDULE !!
Wednesday, December 14
·
Presentations should last about 8-10 minutes; Chris will cut you off after 12 minutes! Rehearse
your remarks so you do not go way over or way under this time
frame.
·
Do not read to us; make
your presentation more conversational than formal
·
Your goal should be to communicate to us
what your overall theme is, present some evidence that explains and supports
this theme, and offer some conclusions as to what you expect to discover in the
end. Highlight for us in particular what
you have learned that surprises you, and/or the material you have found most
interesting.
·
You should have your completed poster sitting right next to you so we can all see it; one good way
to structure this presentation is to take us through the material on your
poster; you may also refer to written notes or index cards during your
presentation; a Power Point is acceptable but not expected or required
·
SPEAK LOUD AND CLEAR, AND STAND UP STRAIGHT!
·
Students and the professor are expected to ask questions
and/or make astute observations for 2-3 minutes after each presentation
