Course Description: This course focuses on the issues of conserving biodiversity. It is organized to include species-, population-, and ecosystem-level issues. Topics such biodiversity, extinction, sustained yield, exotic species and preserve design will be covered. Management implications and the ecology of issues are integrated throughout the course. Labs focus on the ecosystems and conservation problems of southern Minnesota. Prerequisites: BIO101 and declared major in biology or environmental studies.
