Syllabus

Course description: This course is a survey of the diversity of plants with emphasis on seed plants (Kingdom Plantae), but will also include the fungi (Kingdom Fungi) and algae (Kingdom Protista). Form and function, including reproductive biology, morphology, phylogeny and anatomy of these groups will be stressed. The class will focus heavily on evolutionary relationships and includes the study of fossil plants. Prerequisites: BIO 101, BIO 102, BIO 201, BIO 202, CHE 107, CHE 141
