U-God U-God’s impact on The 36 Chambers wasn’t felt as much as the majority of the members because he was serving a sentence for possession of narcotics during the majority of the recordings for the album. Never the less he added the now infamous first verse to the song, Da Mystery of Chess Boxin’. U-God’s impact was felt more so on the Clan’s second release, Forever. He had standout verses on numerous tracks and was the one of three members to have a solo track on the album. U-God was the 8th of the 9 members to release a solo album. In 1999 he released Golden Arms Redemption. The album was considered a Wu-Tang classic and eventually reached gold status. However in 2004, U-God and RZA had a heated argument over royalties and U-God temporarily left the group. The leave from the clan was short lived while RZA and U-God settled their disagreements and U-God toured Europe with the Clan in 2004. |
