Posada De Tigua is a one hundred and fifty year old ancestral farm located in a tucked away corner in the Ecuadorian countryside. This homestead and fully functional dairy farm is surrounded by gorgeous hills and valleys. Gourmet food prepared naturally from farm products such as milk, dulce-du-lache carmel, and butter are cooked daily as well as homemade bakery products, all served in the family dining room. The entire homestead is furnished by original antique furniture. The homestead has four cozy rooms available for travelers each with new private bathrooms. Tour the barns, meet the farm staff, and experience how the operation works, much as it has for over 100 years. A beautiful drive from Quito past villages, and rose greenhouses, and through valleys. Multiply daily activities are available to travelers, including an adventurous horseback ride to Quilotoa Crater or through the Quilotoa Loop. Regardless of the choice of daily adventure all will enable a scenic tour through the villages of the highlands where you can stop along the way and meet the local folks. Posada De Tigua is owned and operated by a charming couple who grew up in the farm house.
