This is a list of song lyrics that I (and the many people who have, and will, help)
believe are a reference to some influence, such as film, television, art, etc. These
are, of course, subjective to my own opinion, and there may be more than one possibility.
Any thoughts, send mail to

Make Them Die Slowly
Album Title: Make Them Die Slowly
Reference: probably from the movie Make Them Die Slowly.
On sale listing from www.ransomnote.com: "This is the completely uncut European version of Umberto Lenzi's cannibal classic.
Runs longer than the US video release. Very gory with fucked up penis and breast violence, decapitations, rape and lots
more." I haven't seen it, but it sounds interesting.
La Sexorcisto
Song: Black Sunshine
Lyric(s): "to the devil a daughter comes"
Reference: probably from the movie To the Devil a Daughter.
Song: Soul Crusher
Lyric(s): "Speed kills, I'm alive yeah, in my Durango '95, yeah!"
Reference: A Clockwork Orange. When Alex and his drooges steal the car and "flitted
about with other travelers of the night", the car they stole was a Durango '95.
Song: Soul Crusher
Lyric(s): "Duke of NY see yeah eliminator!"
Reference: The Duke of New York is either from the movie Escape from New York (starring
Kurt Russell as Snake Pliscon), since the head (bad) guy is called the Duke of NY. Another possibility
is from A Clockwork Orange. After Alex cuts Dim's hand and throws him in the water, the
bar/restaurant they go to is called the Duke of New York. It's probably the first one.
Song: Soul Crusher
Lyric(s): "Motherfucker scream 'Horrorshow!'"
Reference: A Clockwork Orange. They are fond of saying that something is "real horrorshow"
meaning that it is good. This one is a stretch.
Song: Soul Crusher
Lyric(s): "Time a Diamond Ass right on my line"
Reference: Not sure, but there's a song on the album Soul Crusher
called Diamond Ass.
Song: I Am Legend
Lyric(s): "Omega-Man say, 'It's all gone away, I cannot believe it.'"
Reference: The Omega Man (1971, starring Charleton Heston). I guess the whole song
is based on this movie. The movie is actually based on a book, I Am Legend by Richard
Matheson. I'll post more info when I finally see the movie.
Astro Creep: 2000
Song: Super-Charger Heaven
Lyric(s): "immaculate conception Bury me an angel, God, I need some
inspiration!"
Reference: probably from the movie Bury Me An Angel.
Song: Real Solution #9
Lyric(s): "who will survive and what will be left of them?"
Reference: Texas Chainsaw Massacre. This was the slogan used
on the poster advertising the movie.
Song: More Human Than Human
Lyric(s): "More Human Than Human"
Reference: Blade Runner. There's a scene where Deckard is talking
to Tyrell (who creates the androids) and Tyrell says, "More human than
human, that's our motto". BTW, I personally correlated this one with Rob.
Song: More Human Than Human
Lyric(s): "Yeah, I am the Nexus One, I want more life fucker, I ain't done".
Reference: Blade Runner. In the movie, the main android (Roy - Rutger Hauer) says to
Tyrell, "I want more life... fucker!" Also, the
model of android that Rutger Hauer plays is Nexus 6, so draw your own conclusions.
More to come. It's basically a matter of looking through and reading all the lyrics,
which just takes time. If anybody has seen some of the movies I refer to above, and has any ideas,
drop me a note. dkuster@gac.edu
