Be it remembered that on the 18th day of February, 1858, the last will and testament of Josiah Pillers of Pike County deceased was produced in open court and proved by the oaths of Thomas Johnson and John McCoy the subscribing witnesses Thereto whose examination was received to writing and together with said will was ordered to be recorded and which said will and proof are in the words and figures following to wit.
In the name of the Benevolent Father of All I Josiah Pillers of Pike County Ohio do make and publish this my last will and testament
1st I give and devise to my beloved wife Mary Pillers all my real Estate situate in Pike County containing about two hundred acres during her natural life and all the stock except for and after any household goods furniture provisions and other goods and chattels which may be there at the time of my deceased during her natural life as aforesaid. Except one yearling calf which I devise to my daughter Elizabeth Pillers and also one horse I devise to my grand son Thomas Clay when he arrives at the age of majority.
2 At the death of my said wife the Real Estate aforesaid and such personal property or the proceeds whereof ordinary provisions are un consumed unexpended I give and devise to my daughters Elizabeth PIllers Rebecca Christman Amy McCoy Abagel Genther May Skouden Barbury OBryant Nancy Pillers and also my grand son Thomas Clay (nb McCoy struck out) each and all of them to receive at the death of my said wife equal shares of all my Real Estate and Personal Property to all of them above named and each of their heirs forever.
I do hereby nominate and appoint Thomas Johnson Executor of this my last will and testament hereby authorizing and empowering him to compromise adjust release and discharge in such manner as he may deem proper the debts and claims due me. I do also authorize and confirm him if it shall become necessary in order to pay any debts to sell by private sale or otherwise. I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made

On the 18th day of February AD 1858 personally appeared before me E.R. Allen Judge of the Probate Court within and for the County of Pike and State aforesaid Thomas Johnson and John McCoy who being duly sworn according to law depose and say that they have now and here seen and inspected the paper writing produced as and for the last will and testament of Josiah Pillers late of Pike County deceased that they are the attesting witnesses to said will that said Josiah Pillers at the time of executing said will was of full age of sound mind and memory and ? not under any restraint at the time of executing the same That said paper writing was acknowledged and declared by the said Josiah Pillers in our presence as and hor his last will and testament That we attested and subscribed the same in presence of said Josiah Pillers at his request and that the same was acknowledge by him as his last will and that we subscribed the same in presence of each other.
