Day 1 – (Sunday)
Depart for Costa Rica from Minneapolis. Pick up by families for home stays. The family will be with a sign with the name of each student
Day 2 – (Monday)
Get acquainted with families. 8:00 a.m. : Orientation session at ICLC.
Day 3 – (Tuesday)
Time to learn the way to the school assigned (elementary or secondary). Spend sometime in schools observing and getting acquainted with school.
1:00 p.m. Walking tour in downtown Alajuela to get familiar with the area. Time to exchange money.

Day 4 – (Wednesday) Teach in schools
Day 5 – (Thursday) Teach in Schools
SEMINAR IN THE EVENING 7 – 9 P.M.
Day 6 –(Friday ) Teach in schools
Day 7 (Saturday )
Day trip: Poas Volcano, La Paz Waterfall and Sarapiquí.
Day 8 (Sunday)
Half day trip to coffee tour at Café Britt
Day 9 – Day 13 teach in schools
(Tuesday) SEMINAR IN THE EVENING 7 – 9 P.M.
(Thursday) SEMINAR IN THE EVENING 7 – 9 P.M.
Day 14 (Saturday) San Jose city tour and lunch at a typical restaurant
Day 15 (Sunday) 1 day trip to Tortuga Island
Day 16 (Monday) Last day in the schools
Thank you dinner for host families provided by Gustavus students
Day 17 (Tuesday) 3 day/2 night at the rain forest
Stay at Sueno Azul hacienda – work on paper for course
Day 18 ( Wednesday)
Sueno Azul – work on paper; horseback ride into rain forest
Day 19 (Thursday)
Sueno Azul
am. hike in rain forest
after lunch: depart for Alajuela
Evening at hotel Hampton Inn and Suites with a farewell dinner included for group
participants
Day 20 (Friday)
Depart Costa Rica for Minneapolis. (Do not forget to save $26 for the airport tax.)
