FALL TERM 2006
PROF. ERIC J. CARLSON

This is a course on the history of England between two political revolutions: the coup against Richard II in 1399 and the Glorious Revolution that deposed James II in 1688. In addition to the turbulent politics of the period, we will also study the major changes in religion and society during these years -- changes such as the Reformation, and massive population growth and rural development which are arguably as revolutionary in their impact as the political upheavals.
