Calculus II

Exam 1

Exam 1 will cover Chapter 7 (all sections): Integration.

Exam 1 is scheduled for Thursday, March 7, in Olin 320 during the regular class period (9:00 or 12:30).

You will be allowed to use your calculator and a 3"-by-5" note card. You will be provided with a table of integrals, but it will not include I. Basic Functions, formulas 1-7. It will include Formulas 13, 14, and 24-29.

This exam will consist of problems and questions regarding techniques of integration. It is primarily a skills test. You should be prepared to demonstrate your ability to calculate integrals accurately and efficiently. Because the exam must be taken during one class period, some kinds of problems and some of the more difficult procedures will not appear on the exam (sorry, Jason), but you would do well to prepare for every kind of problem covered in Chapter 7.

Techniques and topics

Review problems: Review the homework and problems worked in class. (Check the files under the "Documents" link on the home page.) Get additional practice by doing some of the review exercises on pp. 338-340. Solutions will be posted outside Olin 307.
