Assignment
Your assignment is to write a report on one Nobel Conference lecture. Write your report as if you were writing an article on the speaker and his lecture for The Gustavian Weekly or The Saint Peter Herald--an article that would do credit to the newspaper's reporting on economic issues. Write your article to satisfy a reader who really wanted to attend the lecture but was unable to do so. Accordingly, it is appropriate for your article to put the lecture in context by describing the milieu of the Nobel Conference and providing appropriate background information. Of course, your article should report adequately on the substance of the lecture as well.
If you like, you may write a piece that would more suitably be printed in the opinion/editorial section of the newspaper.
Consult the "PROSE" handout and check your paper against the evaluation criteria listed there.
Your paper should be typed and about two double-spaced pages long. It may be longer.
