Experience

Academic Librarian & Assistant Professor, Gustavus Adolphus College, 2006 – present
I teach library instruction sessions, provide collection development services and assist students at the reference desk.  With special responsibilties in collections access, I undertake projects designed to better connect our patrons with our collections. Additionally, I act as a liaison with several departments and participate in the shared management of the library.

Adult & Technical Services Librarian, Saint Peter Public Library, 2005 – 2006
I oversaw the operations of the library’s ILS, SirsiDynix Unicorn Library Management System.  I also trained and supervised staff, created an Information Center for patrons and provided collection development for all adult nonfiction, reference, and media collections.

Reference Librarian, Rasmussen College – Mankato, 2004 - 2005
I provided reference service, taught library instruction sessions and created user guides for library databases and other resources.


Teaching

I teach one-time or multiple-visit library instruction sessions to undergraduates in a range of disciplines and course levels. I teach several dozen instruction sessions each academic year. I also provide one-on-one instruction to patrons at the reference desk and support the teaching mission of the college through collection development activities.  Additional teaching initiatives include:
