| DESCRIPTION: Information and discussions will focus on the context for drug use in America, personal and social implications of drug use and abuse, adolescent use, chemical dependency, and drug education and prevention programs. Drug abuse prevention will be discussed with specific reference to American public schools and adolescents. Students will be prepared to teach drug education in grades 7-12. This course satisfies the MN State Teaching Board and NCATE/AAHE competencies for majors in health education. |
