I did my undergraduate work at Carroll College in Helena, MT. It is a school much like Gustavus. It is a liberal arts institution, but with a Catholic influence and only about 1500 students. I did a little bit of everything there, being a chemistry lab TA for everything imaginable, Student Ambassador, orientation volunteer, and taking part in school politics as Freshman Secretary, Sophomore Vice President, and President of my Junior and Senior classes. I did summer research after my sophomore and junior years at Kansas State University and State University of New York at Stony Brook, respectively, as part of the NSF-REU program. After that, I moved out to Minneapolis to do my Masters work in Chemistry at the U. Grad school was definitely an experience--the size of the school was the size of my hometown! I had a good time, though, and made some great, great friends. I graduated on September 24, 2007.
