Shore Spearing: Shore spearing is the act of spotting fish from the shore or from standing in water and throwing the spear at the fish. This is the most basic form of spearing. The trick with this form is that you must account for the refraction of the water. You must aim higher than where the fish appears to be if you want to hit it. |

Shallow-Water Spearing: Shallow-Water spearing is when you swim on the surface or just under the surface of the water and can spot fish down to the sea or lake bed. This takes some cardio because you must keep swimming to stay afloat in the water, but all spearing done is underwater. |

Free-Dive Spearing: Free-Dive spearing is the most physically demanding of the basic techniques. It involves diving from the surface of the water and searching for fish on the sea or lake bed. Often weight-belts are used to make the decent eaiser. See Video |
