Yes this is really grown in southern Minnesota. This is an outdoor variety Hisbicus plant. It is outside the southeast corner of my home. The location protects it from most of the summer winds and/or possible hail. It is covered by mulch in the fall and so far has wintered for 7 years. The plant regrows each year from below ground. This is a series of photos over the 7 years.
