Personal Statements

I’m Lyncee Davies from Richfield, Minnesota, which is a suburb of Minneapolis. My school had open enrollment so anyone who wanted to come to school in Richfield could. This brought in many different races and ethnicity to my school. Different races and racial issues have always been part of my life, and that is why I decided to take this course.

Hi, my name is Emily Hysjulien. Tor the majority of my childhood, I attended very non-diverse schools. So, when I came to Gustavus I was interested in becoming more educated in the history of race in America, and race matters present still today.
