In our music performance laboratory we have focused on the physical, behavioral, and psychological systems which contribute to excellence in instrumental music performance. Our research has primarily focused on brass performance, but includes research on the practice habits of vocalists, string, percussion, woodwind, and keyboard performers as well.

Our research is aided by undergraduate students who share our interest in music and has been greatly enriched by our colleagues in the music, physics, and psychology departments here at Gustavus.
