About Ann

Ann Markham O'Connor became a stewardess at the age of 23 in order to overcome her fear of flying and to see the states. She trained at the American Airlines school in Dallas, Texas. A classmate of hers went on a date with Elvis Presley, who picked her up in a big pink Cadillac. Ann's brush with famous men was in the form of Frankie Lane, who invited her to Tavern on the Green. She declined. To the great delight and pride of her children, Ann's photograph is in the 1965 edition of The World Book Encyclopedia under the heading "Airlines."

Retired as a law librarian, Ann is now riding the waves of technology from her desk top system. She acts as an unpaid but always appreciated research associate for philosophers O'Connor and Heldke. Away from home, Ann can be spotted scouting discovery auctions, finding the hidden treasures in small boxes. Her artistic expressions are most clearly seen in her crewel and needlepoint.
