  2. Do Exercise 2.34 parts a and b, but strike out the first statement of the problem and replace it with 
        For each statement below about natural numbers, decide whether it is true or false.   If it is true, prove it; if it is false, give a counterexample.
  3. Exercise 2.36
  4. Exercise 2.40 part a. Part b is optional. Do it if you are able to.
