The Gustavus Athletics Department sponsors 25 varsity sports including 13 for women and 12 for men. Gustavus competes in Division III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as well as the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). Gustavus has a long and successful athletic tradition that dates back to the early 1900s. The Gustavus Athletics Department operates under the NCAA Division III philosophy of awarding financial aid based only on family need and academic merit and as a result does not offer athletic scholarships. This philosophy has created a strong and diverse program in which participants are motivated by their love of the game and their desire to excel. |
