Topics Covered
The test will cover all materials from Chapter 1 through 5 of the textbook. There are two parts—a theoretical part and an ML programming part. The theoretical part is 50-minute and will be in class on March 16. The programming part is takehome and is due before class (8am) on March 19.
In-class Exam Format
The in-class test is closed book, closed notes, but you may bring in a US-letter sized paper with your notes hand-written on it. No computer-generated printout is allowed but you may write on both sides of the paper. Moreover, no electronic device of any kind is allowed during the test.
Takehome Exam Format
You can use our textbook as a reference for ML. However, you must write the programs yourself. No problem discussion of any kind, help, or internet search is allowed. There will be no credit for incorrect programs.
