Gibbs Hall
Year Built: 1966
Purpose: Dormitory
 
Gibbs was built as a link between North and Sorenson. In the past it was known as “link” until it was renamed in 1993.
 
 
 
Residential Halls
 
Norelius Hall
Year Built: 1967
Purpose: Dormitory
 
Norelius Hall is located on the north side of campus. It was the first residence hall for both male and female students.  
 
 
Pittman Hall
Year Built: 1963
Purpose: Dormitory
 
Pittman Hall is located on the south end of campus. Originally it was named Prairie View and occupied by only women.  The dorm was renamed Pittman Hall in 1987 due to a large donation from Delmar and Jean Pittman. It was recently updated in Summer 2009.
 
 
Arbor View Apartments
Year Built: 1998
Purpose: Residence
 
Arbor View is located on the South end of campus. It was purchased by Gustavus in 1998. The reason for this was because the campus lacked student housing after the tornado.  
 
College View Apartments
Year Built: 1988
Purpose: Residence
 
College View was added to after the tornado in 1998 to make up for the loss of student housing.
Carlson International Center
Year Built: 2000
Purpose: Dormitory
 
Carlson International Center replaced Johnson Hall which was destroyed by the Tornado two years prior. It was the largest project after the tragedy in 1998.  
 
Prairie View Hall
Year Built: 1998
Purpose: Dormitory
 
Prairie View Hall is centrally located on campus. It was built after the tornado to provide more student housing.
 
 
Sohre Hall
Year Built: 1961
Purpose: Dormitory
 
Sohre Hall is located on the south end of campus. It originally housed women like Pittman Hall.  It was recently updated in Summer 2009.
 
Rundstrom Hall
Year Built: 1938
Purpose: Dormitory
 
Rundstrom Hall was one of the original buildings on campus made from stone (One of three stone buildings left standing).
 
Sorenson Hall
Year Built: 1955
Purpose: Dormitory
 
Sohre Hall is located on the north eastern side of campus.
Southwest Hall
Year Built: 2005
Purpose: Dormitory
 
Southwest Hall is one of the newer dormitories on campus and is centrally located.
Uhler Hall
Year Built: 1929
Purpose: Dormitory
 
Uhler Hall is one of the oldest dormitories on campus. It housed many men in preparation for World War II. Uhler Hall underwent renovations in 1982.
